Planning association to host event in Allen

The American Planning Association Texas Chapter (APATX) will hold a conference at a convention center in Allen.

The APATX State Planning Conference is an event where professionals across several industries can gather and learn about planning from expert presenters. The convention's keynote speaker is Theresa O'Donnell, the current senior advisor of the Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. She also has experience as the Director of Planning for Vancouver and was involved with projects such as the Broadway Plan and Equity Plan.

Businesses that want to attend, present workshops, and be promoted during the event can become conference sponsors. Companies can pay between $200 and $6,000 to sponsor the APATX convention. Those who spend at least $2,000 will receive logo recognition on conference Banners and have their names featured in the event's paper schedules and website. Organizations may also sponsor specific activities at the convention, like the opening reception and awards luncheon.

The state planning conference will be held from October 16th to October 18th. Tickets to the event are $50 for students, $225 for nonprofit groups, and $625 for those who aren't members of the APATX. Exhibitors may pay $800 for a booth. Discounts are available for elected officials and those who speak at the convention. Annual conferences similar to this may use printing services to make banners and Posters that advertise their gatherings.
