In answer to the City of Allen’s growing tourism trade, a new hotel, convention center, and parking garage was approved on April 14, with a tentative opening in January 2017.
The Allen City Council agreed to have TCH Altera LLC construct a 290-room hotel that will rival the Sheraton Dallas and Hilton Anatole Hotels. The new facility will feature a 64,500-square-foot, four-star, full service convention center. Once operational, the hotel and convention center will provide local Print companies with plenty of work, with brochure printers sure to be especially busy.
Adjacent to the hotel and convention center, a 1,000-car garage will provide an abundance of convenient parking.
The $85m project will occupy seven acres at North Central Expressway and Bethany Drive next to Allen’s Watters Creek Shopping Center and apartment complex. HVS Global Hospitality Services conducted a study suggesting the convention center will, by its fourth full operational year, be bringing in $3.6m per year.
The increase in convention space provided by the Watters Creek hotel will attract even more business and tourism to the city, which in turn will lead to even more developments. Already, plans are in the works for Watters Creek Office Park, which will provide Stationery and business card printers with extra work. The five or six building office complex, 860,000 square feet in area, will be located next to the convention center. Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Print
