Plans have been announced by two developers for a mixed-used development project in Allen. These include a shopping center, along with apartments.
The development will take place near Custer Road and State Highway 121 and will cover about 60 acres. Another project will take place as well as in the area of High Street Residential and RPS Development.
Billing itself as a first class shopping center, developers are calling the center Cornerstone Village @ Allen. It will include about two dozen retail stores and restaurants. The buildings will cover over 340,000 square feet. It is likely each retail space will be covered with Flyers and Banners to let residents know they are open for business when the project is completed.
The second half of the developing for this area will be an apartment complex that will house 638 apartment homes. The complex will have individual buildings ranging from three to four stories and will be individually built in a series.
Other development plans are taking shape in the area as well. Construction will begin in the near future on a convention center and hotel which will cover seven acres near U.S. Highway 75 and Bethany Drive. The hotel, which will be a Marriott property, will have 300 rooms and a parking garage, while also offering meeting space for conventions. It is expected another reuse development will also be built at Stacy Road and U.S. Highway 75.
