Local cuisine aplenty at Allen food festival

The Village at Allen will be holding an event this November that allows guests to try a selection of wines and dishes from local restaurants.

The 2nd Annual Allen Food and Wine Festival provides attendees with an afternoon of entertainment and cuisine. This year, the event will feature items from 10 local restaurants and over 100 varieties of wine. There will be live performances, and guests can partake in a grape stomping competition. Culinary demonstrations will also occur at the festival, and several local vendors will be selling their wares.

The festival will benefit The Treasured Vessels Foundation, a non-profit group that aims to provide long-term safe spaces for those impacted by traumatic events. The organization hopes to assist individuals with healing and growth through its comprehensive approach to therapy. The group was founded by Alicia Bush, who has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. The festival will occur on Saturday, November 7 and will begin at noon. Due to the pandemic, the event will be split into three-hour windows and will practice social distancing. The food and wine tasting pass will cost $60 and will include 20 wine tasting tickets. Those who only wish to try the wine can pay for just a wine tasting pass for $40.
