The Allen Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program is underway and runs for the next seven weeks.
To encourage adults to get back into the reading habit, the Allen Public Library is sponsoring a reading program just for them. Participants do not need to register or even possess a library card. The program is open to anyone who is 18 years or over. To be eligible for the final prize drawing, readers must present their logs at the reference desk no later than 5:00 pm on August 2.
Libraries are a source of free entertainment, with numerous informative and fun events held all year long. Moreover, brochure printers keep libraries stocked with a wealth of informative pamphlets on a wide array of subjects.
Participants may select from any of the adult or teen titles, and audio Books and eBooks count as well. Each book or five hours of reading is worth an entry into the weekly drawing for a gift card in the amount of $20.
The program began on June 6, but the first drawing does not take place until June 24 so there is still plenty of time to earn entries. Every Wednesday thereafter, another gift card drawing will be held until the last week, when it will be held on Tuesday August 4 along with the Grand Prize drawing of three $50 Watters Creek shopping center gift cards.
