Juneteenth concert to take stage in Allen

Allen’s Stephen G. Terrell Community Park will be filled with music, food trucks, and vendors for a Juneteenth Celebration Concert.

The event is presented by Phillips Home Improvements, the City of Allen’s Parks and Recreation Department, and Community Waste Disposal.

The Juneteenth celebration is meant as a place where friends and family can gather and enjoy the recreational activities, including a live performance by Extended PLAY. The Dallas-based band is made up of seven musicians and vocalists. Extended PLAY is primarily known for their live musical performances as a cover band, spanning a variety of genres. They’re known for putting their spin on rock classics to modern pop hits for diverse audiences of all ages.

The band members include two performers who take guitar and vocal roles – Kyle Giaque and Nicholas Cook. Other key players include keyboardist and vocalist Chris Jordan, bassist Bruce Reid, drummer Ric Jones, and vocalists Kaye Portis and Cedrick Portis. Extended PLAY’s current tour includes performances all over Texas, including Bartonville, Grapevine, Burleson, and Bedford.

There will also be a number of local food trucks and vendors for participants to enjoy during the Juneteenth celebration. Concert events like this may choose to use Logo Design services for printed promotional material.

The Juneteenth Celebration Concert is happening on Thursday, June 19 at 6:00 pm at the Stephen G. Terrell Community Park in Allen.
