Residents of North Texas, which includes cities such as Allen and McKinney, will be soon be treated once again to Holidays at the Heard, an annual fundraising event at the museum.
The Heard, which is a Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, was founded in 1967. The complex, which spans almost 300 acres, is dedicated to educating visitors about nature and the environment. Its mission consists of education, conservation, and preservation.
Proceeds from the event are used to continue to enhance visitors’ experiences at the Heard. It is likely funds are used for projects, educational materials such as Brochures and Flyers, and upgrades to the museum.
Holidays at the Heard will cater to visitors of all ages with its creatively decorated dinosaurs and lighted nature trail. The nature trail, which is about a half mile long, is decorated to enhance the natural surroundings. Visitors will be treated to hot drinks and snacks and will be able to enjoy the entertainment, which consists of local musicians performing holiday music at the museum’s amphitheater.
The Heard Museum is located at 1 Nature Place in McKinney. Holidays at the Heard will be held this weekend, December 16th and 17th, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission is $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children ages 3 through 12. Younger children are admitted at no charge. Tickets can be purchased at a discount online prior to event.
