Hair product brand gives course in Allen

Cosmetics company Wella will be offering a class in Allen that teaches students how to cut and style hair.

The Hands On Color, Cut, and Styling Class is a program offered by Wella where aspiring hair stylists can learn useful skills from an experienced professional.

The hands-on workshop will be taught by Wella’s brand educator Heather Porter, and the lesson will be held at Armstrong McCall. Each student will receive their own mannequin and products to work with. All participants will be served lunch and attendees also get a discount on Wella merchandise.

Porter has been working with Wella Professionals as an educator, stylist, and manager for more than 13 years. She studied cosmetology at Paul Mitchell the School in Houston and made the dean’s list at Lone Star College. She also has earned several certifications in topics such as using a CHI straightener, She Socap Extensions, and carrying out treatments and blowouts using Keratin Complex. Porter also volunteers with the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation.

The coloring and styling workshop will be held on Monday, August 29 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The course will cost $110 per student. Participants must bring their own sheets, cutting comb, and styling brushes to the class. Companies offering informative programs similar to this may use flyer printing to promote their courses to potential students.
