In anticipation of the opening of a new Krispy Kreme at U.S. Highway 75 and McDermott Drive on March 31, donut lovers camped out the night before.
At 7:30 pm on March 30, a line of 21 sweet-toothed customers formed along the sidewalk in front of Allen’s newest Krispy Kreme in response to the company’s promotion of a year’s worth of free donuts. In addition to those lined up the night before, the first 12 cars to go through the drive-through on Tuesday morning also received the free donut promotion.
William Tennison, the new store’s manager, indicated that he believed the promotion, which was liberally advertised via email, radio, and television, was a success. The parking lot of his new store was the site of an all-night party featuring a DJ. Donut lovers passed the time while their kids whizzed about on skateboards and scooters.
While his store was being prepared for its grand opening, Tennison was undertaking new experiences of his own. Beginning his association with the company at the beginning of the year, he has been gaining experience working at the Richardson location.
The employment of a banner printing service is always a good way to build anticipation of the opening of a new store, even before it is built. Construction for the new store took five months, with planning having begun a year ago.
