After 16 years, the Allen Premium Outlet location will get a makeover and expansion thanks to the Allentown City Council, which approved a zoning change for the planned development.
Currently, the site, which is owned by Simon Property Group, plays host to approximately 100 stores and restaurants. The expansion will add development of over 20 acres of land next to the current 46-acre outlet stores. Businesses planning to occupy the new site have time to come up with ideas to promote their arrival through various means, including Direct Mail printing, new Logo Design, and Banners.
The plans not only include the addition of stores, but also adding over 700 additional parking spaces, restaurants, and hotels. Expansion plans for the current mall include additions to the building that Neiman Marcus Last Call occupies and the addition of food carts and kiosks throughout the current and newly developed sites.
Renovations to the current site include cosmetic changes such as painting, new awnings and architectural accents. The new building’s exterior will comply with the city’s standards and include stone, stucco, and brick to match the elements of the existing mall.
The city has also addressed the additional impacts to traffic by conducting studies and adding additional entry points to the site. It is estimated that approximately 9,000-12,000 vehicles will enter the mall on any given day. Surrounding roads will undergo changes to support the entrance and exit of traffic throughout the various entries onto the site.
