The City of Allen is hosting a Community Garage Sale this spring.
The event is being put on by the Allen Parks and Recreation Department. It is intended to attract both sellers and bargain shoppers in the community.
While browsing items is free to the public, there is a cost if you want to register as a vendor.
The Joe Farmer Recreation Center is the location of the community garage sale. Each space is 17’x10’ and can be rented by a vendor for $30.
There are also discounts for renting multiple spaces. For instance, people renting two spaces are charged $50 while those renting three spaces are charged $65. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own tables and chairs, organizers said.
The event will be held regardless of whether it is sunny or rainy that day.
People who sell items at community garage sales like this may want to use banner printing to make their section stand out to customers.
According to CBS News, some tips for having a successful garage sale include obtaining a permit, advertising, being organized, clearly labeling items and ending at the designated time. There are also several outlets where items can be donated if no one buys them after the garage sale ends.
The City of Allen’s Community Garage Sale is happening on April 5 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center at 1201 E Bethany Dr., Allen.
