The yearly Allen Rotary Christmas Parade will begin the holiday season in Allen early next month.
For more than 50 years, this exciting, family-friendly celebration has been open to a diverse number of local groups and organizations to enter a float or march. Poster printing is commonly used to raise awareness about such events and to encourage Allen schools, youth groups, businesses, and all other types of organizations to participate.
With a fresh take each December, the unique theme for this year's parade is “Tidings of Comfort and Joy.” Banner printing is often used by both organizers and participants to create eye-catching decorations.
The participating groups will lead the way with the Allen Escadrille marching band and first responders, before Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus make their appearance.
The parade will begin at North Cedar Drive and St. Mary’s Drive, head south to Main Street, westward to Allen drive before concluding at the traffic circle by St. Mary's Drive.
A total of 11 small prizes will be handed out for each 'best of' category as well as a grand prize for the overall winner.
This year's holiday festivities are sponsored by Allen Sunrise and Allen Noon Rotary Clubs. All proceedings from the entry fees will fund local Allen Rotary charities.
This year’s event will be on Sunday, December 8, and will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
