Durufle Requiem by the Allen Philharmonic Symphony Chorus is coming to the Allen Performing Arts Center.
The night will start with the choral classic Requiem Mass by Maurice Durufle. The piece is based on Gregorian chant and will feature not only the Allen Philharmonic Symphony Chorus but several other guest chorus groups. The performance kicks off a variety of music throughout the two hour run time, touching upon multiple genres.
The second part will be a string orchestra performance kicking off with Samuel Akpabot’s Three Nigerian Dances for String and Timpani followed by Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings.
Closing out the night is the jazz-influence work of Michael Markowski’s Finding the Words.
Music events like these may choose to use poster printing for a low-cost marketing tool and brochure printing for audience programs.
The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra holds events in the community throughout the year, including their Allen Tuba Christmas during the holidays and their Farewell to Summer concert at the beginning of the school year. The non-profit orchestra was formed in Allen in 1998 and often works with local schools to host performances for and by students.
The Durufle Requiem will be performed by the Allen Philharmonic Symphony Chorus at the Allen Performing Arts Center on March 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets for the event can purchased online through Allen ISD, with discounts for students and senior. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the same night of the event.
