A company has been chosen to reconstruct Fire Station No.2, and a contract has been approved.
Allen City Council recently gave the green light for Crossland Construction Company, Inc to rebuild the fire station in the 1100 block of Exchange Parkway. The company was formed in 1977 and is ranked by Engineering News Record as one of the top 100 contractors. The firm also received the National Safety Award.
After meeting with contractors and reviewing the best offer from four selected bidders that had expressed an interested, it was determined that Crossland’s $4.7m bid was the lowest. Moreover, the city was impressed with the company’s fire station building experience, as well as its general knowledge of the area.
Partnering with brochure printers is an excellent way for construction companies and contractors to garner more business. Prospective clients appreciate being able to see a company’s past work, especially when made available in a high quality visual format.
The existing fire station is expected to be demolished before October 1, and the new station finished by November 2016. Fire personnel will be housed at the nearby Church of Christ, per a lease agreement with the city, until the new station is fully operational.
The new station will have three bays, be ADA-accessible, and have accommodations for men and women firefighters.
