Candy Canes for Kids returns for 4th year

The Village at Allen and The Village at Fairview will kick off the Holiday Season with the Candy Cane for kids event, offering a day of family fun that includes a toy drive to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County (CACCC).

Organizers of the event are looking for support from locals to assist in the many volunteer opportunities needed to make the event a success. Residents and businesses can help by hosting their own toy drive prior to the event. Businesses could advertise their intentions in Flyers and Brochures, which would not only help support the event but also bring customers to their place of work.

Residents could help by volunteering to help build the peppermint stick trees, collect toys, and sell peppermint sticks. Organizers are also looking for individuals to perform prior to the performance of headliner Ellie Holcomb.

The day will be packed full of entertainment for everyone, with special activities for children including face painting, bounce houses, and a petting zoo. There will also be appearances from characters such as Elsa and Anna from ‘Frozen’, Spiderman, and Paw Patrol’s Chase and Marshall.

The event will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at 331 Town Place Fairview. There is no charge for admission to the event or the concert by Ellie Holcomb, but attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped new toy to donate to CACCC.
