The Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) will hold a class in Allen covering the fundamentals of budgeting.
2023 Budget Fundamentals is a program where coordinators, supervisors, and directors can learn how to budget in a school district. The event will start with an overview of budget terminology and policies taught by Karen Wilson. Another section of the workshop will discuss how to budget for employees, which includes topics like creating incentive programs, employee benefit plans, and supplemental compensation plans. This part of the course is taught by Becky Estrada.
TASBO is a resource for school business and operations professionals that was formed over 75 years ago. Many types of school district employees are supported by the organization, such as inventory management staff, accounting professionals, and those in risk management. TASBO offers numerous training opportunities each year focusing on subjects like finance, technology, and leadership development. The president of TASBO is Rachea Adams.
The budget fundamentals workshop will be on Monday, November 13th from 8:45am to 4:45pm. Members of TASBO can pay $235 to register for the course, while non-members will be charged $285. Lunch will be provided to all attendees. Attendees do not need to take any prerequisite courses for this event.
