Sip & Script® will hold a calligraphy lesson in March at Kendra Scott Watters Creek in Allen.
Beginner Calligraphy is a class that gives students an introduction to modern calligraphy. Participants in the lesson will receive a basic calligraphy kit containing a straight pen holder, tracing paper, letter guides, and a black ink pot. The course instructor is Ashley Tarango, the owner of Lonestar Letter. She started her calligraphy business in 2017 and has created hand-lettered pieces for events like weddings. Tarango also offers hand engraving lessons for glass bottles and metal surfaces.
Sip & Script® is a business created in 2015 by Meg Chaloner and Julie Mancini. The company hosts calligraphy and hand lettering classes in comfortable, informal environments where fans of the artform can connect. The organization has more than 100 instructors and hosts lessons throughout the country. Chaloner is also the founder of Bliss Lettering, and Mancini is the owner of Posh and Prep.
The beginner’s calligraphy activity is coming up on March 19 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. The price of the class is $70 per person. Participants will get to keep their kits and creations at the end of the course. Those under 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult during Tarango’s workshop. Artists who organize activities like this may bring their Business Cards to hand to students.
