The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus will hold a concert in December at Watters Creek.
Allen Tuba Christmas is a winter program where guests can listen to musicians of all ages from the tuba and euphonium community. The concert will feature instruments such as tubas, sousaphones, euphoniums, and baritone horns. The performance is a tribute to William John Bell, a professional tuba player and teacher who played in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Bell also performed with the New York Philharmonic and taught at the Manhattan School of Music.
The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus is an organization that was formed in 1998. The group wishes to increase appreciation for music in the community and enhance local culture. Ryan Ross is the orchestra’s conductor, and Rusty King is the chorus director. Many programs are organized by the group, such as the Mother’s Day Concert on the Green, A Salute to Our Veterans, and Shakespeare Reimagined. The organization also offers therapeutic programs like Guitars for Vets.
The concert will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. Musicians who want to register for the event can come to the venue at noon. Tickets to the seasonal performance can be bought for $10. Orchestras hosting similar shows may use flyer printing to advertise their musical events to the community.
