The National Powerlifting Committee will be organizing a weightlifting competition in March at Destination Dallas Texas in Allen.
The Showdown at Destination is a competition where participants can showcase their strength in various weightlifting events. This year, attendees can compete in categories such as full powerlifting, deadlifts, strict curls, and bench pressing. Awards will be given to the top three competitors in each division and weight class. One of the competing teams and coaches will receive the title of Best Coach/Team.
Divisions for the weightlifting event will be split into teenagers, juniors, sub-masters, and masters. There will also be an exclusive division for those who work in the military or the police and fire department. Each participant in the contest is required to wear a singlet, and those who deadlift must wear long socks. Competitive activities similar to the Showdown at Destination can use printing services to make advertisements to promote the event.
The weightlifting contest will be held on Saturday, March 13 from 9:45 am to 5:00 pm. All participants must be members of the SPF. Adults can become a member for $32.81, while teenagers only need to pay $22.44. The full powerlifting contest will cost $85, and the bench-pressing event will cost $70. Those who want a guaranteed t-shirt in their size must register by February 22. People who register after March 1 will need to pay an additional $20 fee.
