The Foundation for Allen Schools will be holding a fundraiser starting in February to benefit local kids.
The Allen ISD Eagle Run is an annual athletic event where community members support local schools through a group run. For 2021, the activity will be held virtually to keep people safe during the pandemic. There will be a racing course available through the RaceJoy app, though participants can also use city trails or local neighborhoods. Runners are encouraged to upload photos of themselves to show others their school spirit.
The Foundation for Allen Schools is a nonprofit educational organization established in 1997. The group has currently awarded more than 400 classroom grants and hundreds of student scholarships. The organization also uses its proceeds to fund Allen PTA programs and other campus-related projects. Charitable associations such as this can spread awareness for their cause by distributing promotional Pens at public festivals.
The virtual activity will begin on Saturday, February 27, 2021 and will end on Wednesday, March 3. The cost to join the event will be $25 per person, though prices will get higher closer to the start date. Entry fees are not refundable. People have the choice of entering the fun run/walk or the 5K race. Those who want to provide further support to the Foundation for Allen Schools can donate to the organization’s website or become volunteers.
