Allen to finish off year with marathon

Allen will be holding an end-of-the-year marathon at Celebration Park, where runners can compete for awards.

The New Years Double is an athletic activity that takes place on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Guests have the option of either running a full marathon, half marathon, or 5K during each day of the event. The course for each race will be a paved-concrete city trail and will take runners throughout Celebration Park. Aid stations are available for athletes and will serve water (provided by Crazy Water) and sports drinks.

The organizers of the races have added some safety measures to help people stay safe, like reducing the number of race participants on each day of the event. The marathon will only have 40 runners, while the half marathon will have 160. Those who have COVID, fever-like symptoms, or have been around others with the condition are asked not to attend to the event. Athletic programs like this can use printing services to make Signs that remind runners to follow pandemic-related precautions.

The New Years Double will be held on December 31 and January 1 from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. All runners who finish their races will get a finisher medal. Running shirts will also be given to those who register. The price to register for the marathon and half marathon starts at $80.
