Allen in tune for a musical June

An international music festival is scheduled in Allen at Watters Creek. Held on the summer solstice, the event is called Make Music Allen.

The festival began in 1982, in France, and now is held in 700 cities in 103 countries. The festival is open to anyone who wants to participate, with old and young performers welcome.

The events are held in several locations in Watters Creek. There is the Main Stage at Village Green, in front of Frogg Coffee Bar and Creperie, near Anne Taylor, next to Sublime Chocolate, and in front of the Z Gallerie.

During the festival, a free mass appeal guitar lesson is offered to those who attend later in the day, and free songbooks are handed out. These contain popular songs like Margaritaville, New York New York, and Blue Moon.

This year the festival has a wide variety of musicians participating, with drum duos, jazz, honky tonk, folk music, classic rock, flute, and sax featured.

Many local Allen restaurants and shops will be open for business. Diners can enjoy coffee, sushi, crepes, sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta, chicken, steak, pizza, wine, beer, breakfast foods, chocolates, and more.

Allen has many Print shops that help with the design of Promotional Products for businesses and clubs for fundraising, promotions, and marketing.

The event takes place on Thursday, June 21, from 10:00 to 9:00 pm
