Allen hosts art fest and wine walk

The Allen Arts Alliance has organized a spring festival and charity walk in May at the Watters Creek Village.

The Allen Spring Arts Festival is an event where people can support local creatives and community organizations. The attending artists represent several art mediums, including photography, printmaking, woodworking, and digital art.

Eventgoers can browse artist booths while enjoying live entertainment at the venue. There will also be kid-friendly art activities at the fest. The money from the event will go to the ArtsReach program and other local organizations like Allen’s Community Theatre. The Wine Walk at the Arts Fest is an activity held for one day of the Allen Spring Arts Festival where participants can try wine and bites from local businesses. The tour will have at least 12 stops, and all guests will get a wine glass. The earnings from this event will go to JCK Resources, an organization that benefits adults with developmental disabilities. The nonprofit was founded by Melinda Kizer to provide transition education to those 18 and older.

The Allen Springs Art Festival will last from Friday, May 10th to Sunday, May 12th. The wine walk will be held on Saturday, May 11th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tickets to the walk cost $25 per person, and the first 100 people to register will get a swag bag.
