This month, there will be a special presentation of local history at the Allen Public Library. Douglas Box, who grew up in the area, will be speaking on the history of Southfork Ranch and his family’s history in the area.
Douglas Box is an author, public speaker, and family business advisor. He has published two Books: Cutter Frisco – Growing up on the Original Southfork Ranch, and Texas Patriarch – A Legacy Lost. Both of these works focus on his history. Cutter Frisco is a memoir about growing up on Southfork Ranch, where a TV show was filmed in the 1970s and ‘80s. Texas Patriarch focuses more on Box’s father, Cloyce, and the many hats he wore during his life.
Box will be presenting at the Allen Public Library for one night. He is scheduled to speak about the books, his experiences growing up, and will likely speak about how life has changed. His talk will be held in the Civic Auditorium, on the first floor of the library. Parking is available in the garage attached to the library.
