Lightbridge Academy to come to Gallatin

A new preschool is coming to Gallatin, as part of a private group with dozens of locations.

Lightbridge Academy offers daycare and education for children aged six weeks to kindergarten, using a customized lesson plan designed to help build the personality of children as well as help them understand basic concepts. The plan, based on pedagogical theory, uses play to teach life skills. The Gallatin location is owned by Eilleen Johnson, who says it was born out of frustration trying to find a place for her own children. The organization says that it bases its organization on a “circle of care” that brings together parents and the community to work alongside their staff and owners.

The Gallatin Lightbridge Academy will have a capacity of more than 100 children, and be complemented by another facility set to open in nearby Hendersonville. The new school is part of a nationwide expansion for Lightbridge, which runs dozens of schools through a franchise model across New England and is looking to open locations across the East Coast. Schools like these often use tools like brochure printing and websites to make their pitch to parents. Lightbridge makes use of apps called ParentView and The Lightbridge Journey to connect parents to the educational process

Construction on the Gallatin franchise of Lightbridge Academy began in February, and the school is slated to open this summer or fall.
