A public screening of the documentary Allowed to Birth will take place at The Palace Theatre in Gallatin this September.
Audiences will have an opportunity to explore contemporary approaches to childbirth and maternal care. Presented by Rose Birth Services in partnership with Little Bear Photography, the event will feature Jacinta Lagos' documentary followed by a discussion examining the topics presented in the film.
The production will explore childbirth through personal stories and international perspectives, addressing issues surrounding maternal health, medical intervention and patient decision-making. The documentary also highlights the work of educator and midwife Kristine Lauria, whose evidence-based philosophy emphasizes respect for physiology, informed choice and continuity of care throughout pregnancy and delivery.
Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to hear from panelists and participate in a conversation about the themes raised during the documentary.
General Admission tickets are priced at $26.34 per person, including $24.00 admission and $2.34 in sales tax. Limited seating is available, and tickets are nonrefundable but can be transferred.
The event welcomes attendees of all ages, but parental discretion is advised. Concessions, including popcorn, candy and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
Organizers frequently use flyer printing to promote documentary screenings, educational events and community discussions.
The date of the event will be Sunday, September 6. The screening and panel discussion will begin at 3:00 PM and conclude at approximately 5:00 PM at The Palace Theatre, 146 North Water Ave, Gallatin, Tennessee. Doors will open at 2:30 PM.
