Gallatin to celebrate Christmas with parade

Gallatin is hosting its annual Christmas Parade this December.

The parade’s theme is “Christmas is…” Participants will fill in the blank with a word or short phrase that reflects their float or entry. The parade will feature a variety of local schools, businesses, non-profits, performing groups, and classic cars. The route will run from Steam Plant Road to Gallatin High School and end with a visit from Santa Claus. The parade will go on rain or shine, so both participants and spectators should dress for the weather.

Registration for groups interested in participating is open until next Saturday, November 22 on the Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce website. Entry fees range from $10 to $35, depending on the type of group. A representative from each group needs to attend an in-person participant meeting to go over procedures for the day. There are three sessions available, which are December 2 at 5:00 pm, December 4 at 10:00 am, and December 4 at 6:00 pm.

All parade entries should be based on the “Christmas is…” theme. Music and dance groups can perform while walking, but there will be no performance stops allowed. Other requirements for entrants are listed on the registration form. Parade participants often use banner printing services to display their group name or message.

The Gallatin Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 13, from noon to about 2:00 pm.
