Gallatin Young Professionals to hold Yard Games

A Gallatin group set up to facilitate networking between young professionals and entrepreneurs in the city will be holding a summer event that features familiar outdoor games.

The event is called Yard Games and is hosted by the Gallatin Young Professionals. It will see attendees travel to the Briarscratch Brewing pub and farm in nearby Cottontown. Specific games and details will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event, but the outdoor space could allow for activities like tug-of-war, “red rover”, kickball, and other favorites that could allow attendees to recapture their childhood. After working up a thirst, the group will head to the brewery section to enjoy some food and cold beer.

Yard Games is free and open to all. The event is part of the GYP’s efforts to reach out to local people in business under the age of 40 and help them forge connections while also creating an enjoyable experience. The group hosts monthly “Coffee & Connect” and “Let’s Get Lunch” events for this purpose, and in the past has hosted holiday gatherings and other outdoor summer activities like a cornhole tournament. Groups like these often see Business Cards exchanged with handshakes, allowing for professionals to make connections with people in a wide variety of fields.

The GYP is set to host its Yard Games event at Briarscratch Brewing on the afternoon of May 22.
