The Sumner County Health Department is hosting its 2nd Annual Community Clean Up Day this March.
The County Health Department is working with city leaders from Gallatin and other towns throughout the county to plan the event. Both individuals and community groups are invited to help clean up trash in Sumner County. Cleanup efforts will focus on river and creek banks and roadways. More than 300 volunteers participated in last year’s cleanup day, and they removed 15,000 pounds of trash from local waterways and roads.
Those planning to participate can sign up for a specific timeslot in their city on the Sumner County Health Committee website. Volunteers are asked to commit to a three-hour shift. Those who sign up will receive more specific details about cleanup locations by email closer to the event date.
The health department will provide all materials that participants need for safe trash pickup. Businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring the event can also sign up through the website. Local government departments often use flyer printing services to promote this type of community event.
Community Clean Up Day will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 7 am to 12 pm in multiple locations in Gallatin and elsewhere in Sumner County. The backup date in case of inclement weather will be the following Saturday, April 1.
