Gallatin historic house to host folk concert

Historic Rose Mont, a 19th-Century house, museum, and event venue in Gallatin, is hosting its inaugural house concert event this March.

During the event, attendees will be served heavy hors d’oeuvres, white wine, and craft beers from the local brewery Big Trouble Brewing Company. The Gallatin-based band South for the Winter will perform. The venue is relatively small, and the concert organizers hope to create a cozy and intimate setting.

South for the Winter’s musical style has been called folk-blues and folk-jazz. Two of its members, Nick Stone and Dani Cichon, met while building greenhouses in Peru in 2014. They added cellist Alex Stradal to form a trio in Nashville several years later. The band is touring in New Zealand prior to the Rose Mont show and will continue to perform in Europe afterward.

Tickets are available now on Eventbrite, and the cost is $50 per person. Alcohol will be available as part of the ticket price, so attendees need to be 21 or older. Only a small number of seats are available, so those interested in attending are encouraged to buy their tickets as soon as possible. Local historical sites often use flyer printing services to promote their special events.

The concert will take place on Saturday, March 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Historic Rose Mont in Gallatin.
