Gallatin food and music festival to return

Grit Grace Grub, an annual event that combines a music festival with a restaurant crawl, will be returning to Gallatin this September.

First held in 2018 by the Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce, Grit Grub Grace was designed as a replacement for the Taste of Gallatin festival. The event includes a route throughout downtown Gallatin, allowing participants to pick up samples from a variety of restaurants. Bluegrass musicians will play along the way. Restaurants involved in past editions have included Awedaddy’s Bar & Grill, Prince Street Pizza and Pub, and Swaney Swift’s on the Square, with this year’s line-up to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.

For this year’s event, diners will pick up a “passport” at the Gallatin Farmers’ Market before an evening on the town. In past events, participants have been able to drop off their passport at an endpoint to enter a drawing for a prize. Restaurant or pub crawls like this have become a popular event in cities of all sizes as a way to connect multiple local eateries with potential customers at once. Vendors at such events may include Business Cards or promotional Menus to help convert their samples into recurring customers. For attendees, it’s a chance to sample many tastes in one night.

The 2021 edition of Grit Grace Grub will take place on the evening of September 11 in downtown Gallatin.
