The Gallatin Farmers Market is hosting A Celebration of the Honey Bee this June.
In addition to the regular farmers market vendors, attendees will have several opportunities to learn about bees and other pollinators. The North Tennessee Beekeepers will run an interactive demonstration of how beekeeping works from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The group will also give educational presentations on beekeeping and pollinator-friendly gardening. Children can attend story time hosted by the Gallatin Public Library at 11:30 am. The market will also hold a contest for the best jar of honey, with judging to take place at noon.
The market itself features a selection of locally produced food and plants, including meats, baked goods, jams, eggs, herbs, and produce. Home decor and other handcrafted goods are also usually available for purchase. All products are made or grown within a 48-mile radius of Gallatin. Businesses that meet this requirement and are interested in selling at the market can contact the Chamber of Commerce by phone or email to apply. Vendors often use banner printing services to display their business names and logos at farmers markets.
The Gallatin Farmers Market’s Celebration of the Honey Bee will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm across from the Gallatin Fire Department. The market is open on Saturdays through the end of September.
