Downtown Gallatin to host street festival

Gallatin’s Main Street Festival will return this October for its 38th edition, offering a variety of vendors and entertainment.

One of the oldest annual events in Gallatin, the Main Street Festival, typically hosts over 200 vendors which include food trucks and stands, artists and artisans, non-profit organizations, and select local businesses. Past Festivals have drawn over 30,000 visitors, often from surrounding areas as well as Gallatin locals. Previous editions have included area vendors such as Unique Specialty Boutique, Dolci Sangiorgi Sicilian treats, and GwadaBokits French Caribbean snacks. The celebration will go ahead rain or shine.

There will be two stages featuring local bands and other entertainment. Past acts have included local names like Incognito Cartel and Jack and the Sol Katz. The festival grounds will include a large Children’s Area offering family-friendly games and entertainment and a dedicated section for food and drink. Vendors must apply in advance and receive approval from organizers. Events like these, often promoted through tools like poster printing and social media, are both a source of public celebration and a major opportunity for small and independent artists and businesses.

As is tradition, the Main Street Festival will be held on the first Saturday in October, which in 2021 is October 2. True to its name, the Festival will take place across Main Street in downtown Gallatin.
