Annual local shopping weekend to return to Gallatin

The Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Merry Market Day at the Gallatin Farmers Market along with a Holiday Tinsel and Treasures “shop local” event for retail stores this November.

These events are part of a longstanding Gallatin tradition that started to encourage residents to begin their Christmas shopping early. The market hosts a selection of local vendors that’s carefully curated to prevent duplicates in the same category. Vendors are a mix of antique sellers and local artisans. Crafters interested in becoming vendors can apply on the Gallatin Chamber’s website.

The Farmer’s Market will be open on Friday, November 10 from 6 pm to 9 pm for the Merry Moonlight Market. Local musician Dean Harlem will perform. Merry Market Day will be the following day from 10 am to 3 pm and feature performances from Steve “Jonesy” Jones and Mattie Taylor. A food truck will be available for snacks and lunch.

In downtown Gallatin, shops participating in the town’s 52nd annual shop local weekend will be offering Tinsel and Treasures Shopping Bags, T-Shirts and other special promotions. Businesses often use poster printing services to advertise their participation in local events.

Gallatin’s early Christmas shopping weekend will run from Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12. Timing details are available on the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce website.
