The 27th yearly Apple Festival is taking place in Johnston across two days this month. It is presented by the North Central Chamber of Commerce, and attracts at least 5,000 visitors each year.
The festival will feature commercial and arts and crafts vendors, entertainment, activities like pony rides and plenty of food for purchase. Of course, there will be many dishes made out of apples. There will also be an apple pie contest with celebrity judges and an apple-eating contest. In past years, there has also been a car show.
For vendors who have already registered to participate in the festival, there will be a free workshop held two weeks before the event. The workshop, entitled "Apple Festival Marketing 101", will take place at the North Central Chamber of Commerce offices.
Organizers of this popular Johnston festival may decide to invest in products from local banner printing companies. Banners can be used to recognize sponsors, to bring attention to vendor booths, or to advertise the event in the community.
The Apple Festival will be held at Johnston Memorial Park from September 20th to 21st from 10:00am - 6:00pm every day.
