A learning experience is being organized in Johnston for this spring with the goal of teaching area residents about the role of worms in the composting process.
The Greenway Wild Walks: Worms and the Compost Cafe event has announced that it will be welcoming students and other interested parties to an immersive learning experience that can enhance their composting efforts. The experience is being led by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council as part of its family-friendly outdoor learning series.
Melissa from 15-Minute Field Trips will be leading the learning adventure, highlighting the role that the Blind Lemon Nightcrawler can play in the composting process and the ways in which it leads to more fertile soil. Print shops can provide learning materials to hand out to participants at such events, leading to higher information retention and a memorable visit.
Attendees will get to participate in the Giant Wormland game, create slime, and gain a clearer understanding of what worms do. The walk is open to guests of all ages and skill levels, and guests can anticipate walking around one mile. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather to ensure a comfortable adventure.
The nature excursion will take place at the Woonasquatucket River Greenway in Johnston, and it starts at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30th. Interested participants can reserve their spots for free online.
