The Johnston community is getting ready for a day of improvements that is coming up as part of the town’s Earth Day celebrations.
The Earth Day Celebration, which is being organized by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, will be giving Johnston residents an opportunity to work together in an effort to clean and restore the area along the river stretching from Manton Pond to Hillside Avenue.
Interested parties can use their skills and hard work to make a difference in the community while working toward a healthier ecosystem.
Volunteers will have several options for tasks they can tackle during the celebrations, including cleaning up the riverbank, removing invasive plants, and planting trees. Live music will be performed by local bands and artists to keep energy levels high and add to the experience. Refreshments will also be available for volunteers to remain hydrated. Organizers can use banner printing to promote such events to the community in a bold way that stands out.
The organizers are also seeking additional sponsors for this year’s event, with these sponsors being featured on signage and promotions. It’s an opportunity for Johnston’s residents and businesses to work together to make a difference.
Volunteers will meet at 45 Goldsmith Street in Johnston at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 25th. Registration will open online soon, and interested parties can contact Jill Davidson for more information.
