Johnston race to support local organizations

Spitler Race Systems will be organizing a race in June to help raise money for charities in Johnston.

The Angels Giving Back 5K is an event held at Citizens Bank where people can compete while benefiting local non-profits. This year, the race will be donating its proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association, Polycystic Kidney Foundation, and The Tomorrow Fund. Only 500 participants will be allowed to take part in the 5K, and registration for the event is unavailable until the day of the race. Those who organize charitable runs similar to this may use Print shops to make Signs for advertising the event.

Angels Giving Back was also created to honor Mario and Valia Coletta. The couple were the founders of Seasons Corner Market and provided education to families. Mario Coletta was a veteran who ran his own gas station at Brown University during the 1960s. The business now has more than 40 locations throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire that offer snacks, drinks, and specialty items. Seasons Corner Market also helped raise $300,000 for two local children's hospitals.

The Angels Giving Back 5K will take place on Saturday, June 11. Registration for the race will open to the public at 8:30 am, and the 5K will begin at 10:00 am. Those interested in participating in the charitable race must pay $50 to register.
