Expo to navigate the world of food

The three-day 2014 Food and Travel Expo is set to get October off to a tasty start.

Day one of the conference is for industry professionals only and is already sold out, but day two is Foodie Day and it is open to everyone. Guests will get to taste all sorts of food and learn about international offerings. Taste Trekkers Tens are a series of 10-minute talks by food experts, and each one will focus on a different region of the world. Some of the countries to be discusses are Bolivia, Canada, and France.

There will also be three 45 minute ‘edible sessions’ and the Hope and Main Tasting Pavilion will have a wealth of food samples. In addition, the Culinary Arts Museum will extend its hours.

The last day of the Expo features a scavenger hunt and movie for children under the age of 18 at the Providence Arcade. The fee to participate is $10 and there will be plenty of prizes to be won.

This event will likely attract people from all over the area, including Johnston. To help advertise, local companies may be asked to provide poster printing services.

The Food and Travel Expo will be held from October 3 to 5. Foodie Day will take place at the Providence Biltmore Hotel on October 4, beginning at 9:00 am. Tickets are $50 in advance or $65 at the door.
