Foo Fest, presented by AS220, is returning to the area again this August. It usually attracts somewhere in the region of 5,000 visitors each year.
The festival is set to feature lots of live musical performances on two stages; the main draw this year is expected to be the experimental band Psychic TV. In addition to the music, there will be other entertainment, public art projects, family-friendly activities, and food and drink for purchase. The non-profit arts center will be able to let the public know exactly what it provides, while locals will get a chance to enjoy some family time together.
AS220 is an all-round arts center that features a Print shop, a dance studio and a performance space. It also provides classes in a number of topics including printmaking, book arts, and fabrication. The classes range in price from $30 for Introduction to Book Arts up to $250 for Introduction to Offset Printing.
The center, which attracts students from all over the area including nearby Johnston, has likely encouraged some in the community to pursue a career with a graphic design or printing companies.
Foo Fest is taking place on Empire Street and inside AS220 on August 9 from 1:00 pm - 1:00 am. To find out more information about this popular annual event, contact Dave Dvorchak at 401-831-9327.Get a Free Quote for Print
