Ukraine ballet comes to Kingston area

The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine will be presenting two fairytale classic ballets coming to the Kingson area at the beginning of November.

The first performance of these love- conquers-all classic fairytales will be the group’s latest version of Pavlovsky’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The 50 performers will be wearing more than 150 crafted costumes. Choreography has been done by Honored Artist of Ukraine and People’ Artist of Moldova, Andrey Litvinov.

Tickets will begin at $45. The curtain will go up for this fairy tale ballet at 7:30 pm on November 3rd, at the Kirby Center, 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre.

However, the evening will not be over, as the troupe will be presenting a full-scale production - sets, costumes and special effects - of Prokofiev’s Cinderella Ballet from 11:30 pm that night, November 3rd, to 1:30 am November 4th.

Tickets for this nighttime performance will begin at $66.

Traveling through the United States and Canada for its 2023-2024 season, the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine has a repertoire of other prestigious classical ballet masterpieces including La Sylphide, Giselle, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and newer ballets by Falla, Shchedrin and Stravinsky.

Those patrons who love the ballet often buy notecard sets depicting the graceful dancers, elegant costumes and enchanting scenery, that have been captured by talented Stationery printers.
