Kingston foodies will be heading to the annual Pittston Tomato Festival coming to the area at the end of August.
Over 100,000 attendees are expected to enjoy the food vendors, entertainment and live music, arts and crafts, games, and carnival rides.
A Tomato Festival Parade will step off at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22. The grand marshal will be festival committee member Ben Tielle. More than 60 groups will be parading along the two-mile route beginning on Main Street and marching through Downtown Pittston.
An hour earlier at 10:00 am, the annual 5k Walk and Run will have a racing route for the 5k, a youth race route, and a walking loop.
Shirts sporting the event's graphic design can be purchased at the event for $35 for the 5k, $20 for the walk, and $20 for the youth run. Racing events usually get their event shirts printed at nearby Print shops.
Contests will include ones for the largest, smallest, most perfect, and ugliest tomato. On Saturday, competitive eaters will be given one pound of spaghetti and sauce to be eaten in less than three minutes using no utensils. The winner will be crowned either the Princess of Prince of Pasta.
This year's Tomato Festival will be from August 20 through the 23 in Pittston, which is less than 10 miles from Kingston.Get a Free Quote for Print
