Many Kingston chicken wings lovers will be heading to the Chicken Wing Fling coming in late July.
The festival will offer more than 25 food vendors with more than 13 of them dedicated to serving chicken wings in dozens of flavors. The venue will also feature local businesses such as community groups, services and boutiques; craft vendors selling art, handmade goods; nonprofits, and children's activities vendors offering crafts and games. This year's bands will include Lance Thomas Live, We the Living, Fake 58 and the Friendly FYRE Band.
A Chicken Wing Contest will have a blind-judge format with winners in Best Overall, Traditional, Boneless and Unique Flavor categories. A People's Choice Award will be decided by the festival visitors.
Teams really aiming to win, often have local Print shops Print their team's name on their paper toques and on other paper products.
The first-ever Hot Wing Hustle 5k Run/Walk will begin on Sunday at 9:00 am. Registration on race day will begin at 8:00 am at the race site and will close at 8:45 am.
Awards will go to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place women and men overall finishers and to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each of eight age categories.
Swoyersville Chicken Wing Fling and Hustle will take place July 25th and 26th at Roosevelt Field at the Corner of Scotts and Tripp Street in Swoyersvlle.
