The Soaring Eagles 5k Walk/Run and 2024 Thanks for Giving Day, both here in Kingston, have been scheduled for November.
Proceeds from the Soaring Eagles 5k Walk/Run will go to funding the Boy Scouts of America's Brian H Swatt Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, a scholarship fund that will help two local Eagle Scouts attend college.
Registration will be $25.
The Soaring Eagles 5k Walk/Run will take place from 9:00 am to noon in Kirby Park, 160 Market Street, on Saturday, November 2nd.
Later in the month on Thanksgiving Day, NEPA Racing, and the Friedman Jewish Community Center will be presenting its 2024 Ben August Thanks for Giving Day Run.
Preregistration is $30.50 and will guarantee light green long-sleeved race t-shirts sporting this year's event brown and orange graphic design until November 18th. After that date, shirts may be purchased online at the event's swag store along with stickers, hoodies, and scarves.
Awards for the 5k will be for overall women and men finishers will be knit scarves and hats, and knitted hats will go to second and third place winners. Awards will go to the first three finishers in each of seven age groups.
The beginning and end of the race will be at The Sidney And Pauline Friedman Jewish Community Center, 613 S J Strauss Lane, Kingston, November 28th, beginning at 9:00 am.
