Traditional holiday ballet goes online

Since the Moscow Ballet is not currently touring, Wilkes Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts will present Christmas Stream Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker virtually this holiday season.

Along with the full version of the ballet, viewers can also enjoy a look backstage with commentary from the production’s designers, creators, and artists.

The event can be seen on Marquee TV and once an account has been created, paying patrons will receive a code by email prior to the performance. It will be accessible from Saturday, December 19, beginning at 8:00 pm until Tuesday, December 29 at 1:00 am. The performance can be seen on Roku, Android TV, Samsung, Android Mobile, Apple TV, Fire TV, and iOS.

Tickets for the performance only will be $24. The $39 Gold Circle Tickets will include the performance stream and a Zoom live meet and greet with one of the dancers. Tickets for the $60 Platinum Package will not only include the stream and meet and greet, but a hand-painted wooden Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker Prince sent in the mail as well. The password and link for the pre-concert Zoom Meet and Greet will be emailed prior to the event.

Mrchandise, Promotional Products, and souvenirs can be purchased at the Nutcracker store and sent to the purchaser’s address. Many Kingston patrons like to get memorabilia from the online store to remember the occasion and further support the event.
