Survivors to celebrate life this month

Those in and around Kingston who have been touched by cancer are invited to a special event in a few weeks’ time.

The 22nd Annual Cancer Survivors Celebration will allow them to congregate and celebrate life. Survivors, along with family, friends, and caregivers, will have the opportunity to talk about their cancer experiences. Likewise, during the ‘Circle of Survivors’, individuals can make an uplifting statement about their encounter with the disease.

Those who attend the event will be given a keepsake book and, for a $20 donation, individuals can write a message to be included in it. The message can be to remember someone or celebrate a survivor. The donations will help those who need financial assistance for cancer treatment and care.

The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute will be hosting the event. The establishment aims to reduce the stress for those dealing with cancer in Northeast Pennsylvania. Since 1991, the organization has been helping the local community. It is likely the event organizers have used a printing company to help make programs and Banners for the celebration.

While this is a free event, individuals are asked to register before September 12. Registration can be completed online or by phone at 1-800-424-6724.

The event is planned for September 20 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, and will take place at Kirby Park located on Market Street in Wilkes-Barr.
