Those who appreciate the fine arts will enjoy a Russian Nutcracker performance from the Moscow Ballet.
Presented by Akiva Talmi, the ‘Great Russian Nutcracker’ features giant puppets and a score from Tchaikovsky. This classic performance will be held at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes Barr, just a few miles away from Kingston.
The company features performances with award-winning dancers, Russian influences, and three-dimensional backdrops. Along with 'The Nutcracker', the Moscow Ballet has a ‘Dance with Us’, program where children perform alongside the professional dancers. It also offers several community outreach activities.
Tickets cost between $30 and $70 plus fees and can be purchased on TicketMaster. VIP tickets cost $104 and include a Nutcracker doll and a ‘Moscow Ballet Book’.
Once a movie theater, the F.M. Kirby Center has gone through many alterations. Ownership changes and hurricane destruction almost led to the theater’s demolition, but community involvement and new owner Albert Boscov allowed the theater to be refurbished and host a wide variety of performances.
A Stationery printing service has no doubt been hired to create tickets and playbills for the performance. These items can be put into a scrapbook or saved as mementos of the event.
