Midsummer means indoor golf and outdoor music

Kingston area residents will have the option of enjoying the outdoors at the three free concerts at Rockin’ the River, or air-conditioned fun in the library in July.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to the trio of free concerts along the Susquehanna River.

The first one will be Friday, July 15 with The Idol Kings, Teddy Young & the Rugged Individuals, and a Billy Joel Tribute – Danny V’s 52 Street Band. On Friday, July 22, the line-up will include Dustin Douglas & the Electric Gentlemen and a Beatles tribute band called The Taxmen. For July 29, guests can enjoy the Southside Five and Mike Miz & the Northeast Extension.

Fans of music groups like these often check with the bands to see if they have anything printed with their Logo Design for sale.

Rockin’ The River will run from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Millennium Circle, 92 North River Street, Wilkes Barre.

Also, the Rotary Club of Wilkes-Barre will present its third annual – All “Fore” Books Mini Golf Classic at the end of July. Golfers will play 18 holes of mini golf in, around, and through the library stacks. Putters and balls will be provided, and someone will receive $500 in the hole-in-one drawing.

This will take place Sunday, July 31 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Osterhout Free Library, 71 S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre.
