The Wyoming Valley Striders Cherry Blossom 46th annual 5 Mile Run and 17th Annual Tim Thomas Memorial is, at the time of writing, still scheduled for May, when Kirby Park cherry trees will be in full bloom.
Race day registration will be $20 and all runners will receive commemorative swag. Awards stamped with the Wyoming Valley Striders Logo Design will be awarded to top three females and male in each age and gender division. The top female and male finishers will receive trophies.
Runners that attend spring events such as this often return to the course after the race to get pictures of the cherry trees. These photos sometimes find their way to local Print shops to be made into Letterheads or note cards.
The WVS Striders Cherry Blossom 46th 5-Mile Run will take place from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm on May 3 at Kirby Park, 301 Northampton Street. It may be wise to check for updates on the Facebook page to make sure it is going ahead. https://www.facebook.com/events/2174746482820847/
