Wyoming Valley Striders will be running two races next month.
The Cherry Blossom/Tim Thomas Memorial 5 Mile Run takes place early in May, and the 29th Annual Spring Age-Group Graded 5.3 Mile Trail Run/7th Annual Jen Stec Memorial Run is in the middle of the month.
Runners in the Cherry Blossom run must pre-register online. The member fee will be $18 and non-member fees will be $20. Registration will be limited to 200 entries and must be done before the race day.
Race packets containing swag featuring the 2021 race graphic design can be picked up at the Kirby Park pavilion, beginning at 8:30 am on race day.
The race will have chip timing and participants will have a staggered start. The course will be mostly over the dike’s flat macadam pavement and in the park’s meadow.
The race will be Sunday, May 2 beginning at 10:00 am at Kingston’s Kirby Park, 301 Northampton Street.
A couple of week later, the Striders will host a 5.3 challenging trail run over grass and earth. Online pre-registration is required, and the run will cost $7. The field will be limited to the first 150 registrants.
Race packets will be available on race day, beginning at 10:45 am at the boat launch.
The trail run will be Sunday, May 16, from noon until 2:00 pm at Frances Slocum State Park, 565 Mount Olivet Road, Wyoming.
